Stunning Debut for Stanley at Snetterton

Micah Stanley secured a double podium on his debut in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship at Snetterton over the weekend.

20-Year-old Stanley who races in the competitive Pro-Am class with Redline Racing had missed out on a lot of pre-season testing due to travel restrictions from his home in Monaco.

The 20-year-old lit up the timesheets in qualifying to secure the Pro Am pole position in his Porsche Centre Silverstone backed 911 GT3 Cup Car, which set him up perfectly for a faultless lights-to-flag win in the opening race.

He led away from pole again in race two but unfortunately contact from another car on lap one damaged his steering and whilst he lost some ground early on, he engaged in a race long battle with the #33 & #27 cars. Hampered by his damaged steering Micah was unable to hold off his rivals but still completed a great double podium of his own in third.

Micah leaves Snetterton leading the Pro-Am Championship by one point.

Micah Stanley: “I have been working really hard preparing for this season unfortunately the Covid situation meant I was unable to travel in the early part of the year which meant missing out on valuable track time however I have a great team and engineer which helped me get up to speed pretty quickly. I am really happy with my performance and to win the first race is an incredible feeling. I am really looking forward to the next round at Brands Hatch in two weeks.

Simon Leonard – Managing Director: “What a fantastic start to the season! To win the opening race of the year is a brilliant feeling and a great reward for every member of the team for their hard work across pre-season and this weekend. Micah was absolutely brilliant all weekend and richly deserved his two podium finishes. We’ve got high hopes for what he can achieve this year.

The next round of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship will be at Brands Hatch on June 26/27.
