Micah Stanley’s Porsche Carrera Cup GB Pro-Am Championship hopes took a heavy blow at the weekend after a first lap incident in race one put him out of the weekend’s races at Silverstone.
After qualifying in an excellent P3 for race one Micah made a good start but as he exited the final corner on the first lap Micah was clipped from behind and sent into a spin across the track hitting the barrier at the entrance of the pit lane. After getting himself out of the car he was taken to the circuit medical centre for checks and subsequently released with just some bruising.
Unfortunately, with such a heavy impact the car was severely damaged and the team was unable to repair it at the circuit.

“I want to thank the marshals and medical team that attended to me after the accident and Porsche for building such a strong car. That was a big impact, and the car did its job. Obviously with no points this weekend my championship hopes have taken a big knock and it’s going to be really hard to make up those points but it’s not over until it’s over”
The team are now in a race against time to build a new car for the next round which is at Donington Park in two weeks time.
