Bittersweet weekend for Micah Stanley at Donington

Micah Stanley had a bittersweet weekend at the opening round of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship at Donington Park over the weekend.

After being upgraded this year from Pro-Am to the Pro class Micah qualified in a fantastic P7 for Race 1. As the lights went out Micah dropped one position at the start but managed to get it back over the next couple of laps, over the course of the race Micah was in an intense battle with last year’s title contender in # 26 car but managed to hold him off and break away to finish in P7 at the line.

Lining up in P7 for race 2 Micah had a much better start but on lap 2 was hit by another car forcing him off track, the off-track excursion caused substantial damage to the front of the car which dramatically affected the handling. Micah carried on trying to make up the time lost but sustained a puncture which eventual put him out of the race.

“Overall I’m happy with my performance, we scored some strong points in race 1 but a DNF in race 2 is really disappointing as we were on for another strong finish”.
